There are limitless ways to use items in your home in a new way. An old 1800’s brass bucket can become a guest room sink (see photo). Or grandma’s copper kindling bucket can be a showpiece in the master bathroom as a sink or bathtub essentials (photo at left). An old wooden ladder from your uncle’s shed can be a cool rustic towel bar. Tearing down an old fence that’s peeling paint or is so grey you don’t recognize it? Guess what, people spend good money on wood made to look like that, and you have it! Use it as a decor idea or to make a coat rack in the laundry room, on a wall, or cut it into strips for a new accent fence panel done horizontally for a modern look (fence photo).
Those old pallets out in the backyard from when you built your patio can be the new “Barnwood” wall/ceiling (ceiling photo at right).
So many antiques can be modified into really cool, unique custom bathroom vanities or storage closets. Don’t have one? No problem, look online for one and you can modify it for a custom look all yours for pennies on the dollar for the same size vanities available today (photos). You only need a saw/zip tools, basic hardware, and your imagination.
